1840s Ballroom | Luke & Eleanor | Baltimore Wedding Photographer

October 5, 2017 in Weddings

Today I am sharing a Baltimore Maryland wedding story that is close to my heart. Back in 2011 I went on my first ever plane ride to Chicago. I went to visit some friends at Wheaton College, and ended up meeting Luke along the way! I met Eleanor in Maryland, as we had attended high school together.

In 2012, Luke and Eleanor met while both attending Wheaton College.

Eleanor, a sophomore, had just transferred in one semester earlier while Luke, a junior, was crashing on a couch having just returned from studying abroad. Eleanor was as driven as always, battling her way through Organic Chemistry while art-major Luke was bumming around campus, not even enrolled in classes at the time.

Well, they say opposites attract, and that was certainly the case when Luke and Eleanor bumped into each other while both traveling with mutual friends downtown to a house show in Chicago.

After he mustered up the strength, Luke asked Eleanor on their first date. The couple went to Navy Pier for the 2013 Wheaton College President’s ball, their school’s annual formal dance. With mutual passions for music, beer and corgis, they hit it off and soon were insufferably inseparable.

After Eleanor graduated in 2015, Luke followed her back to her home state of Maryland where, after a year and a half of further dating, he decided to make it official when he asked Eleanor to marry him on December 23, 2016 outside of the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.

The 1840’s Ballroom served as the perfect backdrop for Luke and Eleanor’s Baltimore  Maryland wedding story.

It had been calling for rain all week; Luke, Eleanor, and I were trying to come up with a plan for portraits. We decided to utilize the Carroll Museum right next to their venue the 1840’s Ballroom in Baltimore! The museum was filled with moody window light, vintage mirror, and fun wall paper; it was perfect! They had their ceremony in in the historic ballroom. Shoutout to J-mo, one of Mosaic’s pastors, who performed the ceremony and nailed it!

After the rain had stopped, so we snuck out to dance under the bistro lights. These two also have killer music taste, their first dance song Real Love Baby by Father John Misty. The party continued with some more rad dance moves and a sparkler exit!

Luke & Eleanor:

“The wedding day was perfect, even despite the downpour of rain. Most of our guests weren’t even aware that the majority of the day was a series of “plan-b’s.” We couldn’t be happier with how it all came together and are loving marriage. We cherish never having to say goodnight and look forward to all the little things that come with spending life together.”

Here are some of my favorite images from Luke and Eleanor’s 1840’s Ballroom Baltimore Maryland wedding:
