NYC In-Home Dumbo Brooklyn Engagement

April 19, 2018 in Weddings

Annie and Phil invited me to their New York City home for their engagement session. I love exploring my couple’s favorite spaces with them! After a road trip and some bubble tea we started the session in their cozy apartment and then adventured around a brisk Dumbo. These two embraced creativity and fun during their session. I seriously can’t wait to see them in Baltimore for their Spring wedding at Mt. Washington Mill Dye House!

Here is their love story!:
Annie and Phil fell in love their senior year at Vassar. Living four steps away and having to get to class at the same time in the same building, they learned early to synchronize their departures. Once Phil embarked for his PhD in Europe and Annie her Masters in DC, four steps became 4,000 miles. They continued to synchronize their departures, this time in order to visit one another and travel on adventures.

When Annie moved to Baltimore for medical school, Phil followed two years later. They nested in their “first home”: a rowhouse in the Federal Hill neighborhood. It was during this time that they fell in love with the city – the history, baseball, dive bars, and abundance of seafood. They grew closer together there with family and friends, old and new – exploring the city, traveling on more adventures, and finally getting engaged.

Phil proposed to Annie by sending her a “package” while she vacationed at her family’s summer cottage in Chautauqua. While Annie puttered on the porch waiting to go to the post office, Phil was en route with ring in hand, ready to take a knee. With a little help from a friendly postal worker, Phil surprised Annie at the nearby fountain in Bestor Plaza. After all the distance traveled and time passed, they couldn’t be more excited to share the rest of their lives together.

Here are some of my favorite images from my adventure with Annie and Phil in New York City!
