I met Kailea at Mosaic, a church that I had been attending for a year or so. A mutual friend from Mosaic decided to start an If Table group; a meeting that happens once a month, that involves amazing food, and even more amazing conversation. It was through that group that we become true friends.
This girl has a bundle of love inside of her, and it has truly been a joy sharing bits of life with her. I heard about every guy that sparked Kailea’s interest, but they were not the rare fit for her heart she deserved. Then one day our friend Meghan introduced Kailea to Alex at church. They later talked each other’s ears off in Panera for hours, and she knew she had found a beautiful addition to her life. An addition she wanted to keep around forever.
Kailea, another friend, and I had planned a girls trip to Europe this past March. Right before we left for the trip she visited Alex and then came to spend the night on my couch. We had to wake up early to catch our flight, and at 4 am I managed to get myself downstairs (I’m not a morning person folks). Kailea asked me to come closer, and I was like, “I’m not ready to talk to people yet.” Then I saw a little sparkle on her hand. Alex had proposed the night before because he didn’t want to wait any longer. It was the most joy I have felt at 4 am.
Their intimate wedding day at the Waverly Mansion, in Millersville, Maryland, was filled with dahlias, books, Jesus, and explosive joy. Alex cried, Kailea’s smile took up her whole face, and I tried to keep myself together behind the camera. It was an honor to capture Kailea and Alex’s wedding story, and I look forward to seeing their adventure together unfold. Here are a few of my favorite images from their day!
