Tony and I teamed up as a Maryland wedding photographer – officiant duo for Jena and Mark’s adventurous vow renewal! I’m thankful that Tony’s is ordained so that we can be a one-stop shop for couples.
We woke up bright and early (always WORTH IT!) to get to the park around sunrise. Hiking to the waterfall early allows us to keep the ceremony intimate and not run into a bunch of folks. We all walked together to the falls, laughing with one another, and reminiscing about their wedding day. (which was an epic camp themed wedding!) It was also one of the first human interactions Tony and I had post quarantine. Luckily I didn’t forget how to socialize, haha. Photographing a fun, laid-back, adventurous couple again felt incredible!
I send a questionnaire to all of my couples before their portrait session or wedding to get to know more about their story and connection.
Your relationship is one of a kind and your story deserves to be told with meaningful unique images! I’m not about putting my couples into a bunch of cookie cutter poses. (no thanks) We will dance to your favorite song, reminisce in monumental moments in your relationship, and explore a location to create new forever memories.
Ok, let’s talk about Mark and Jena.
Truth is, I really look up to these two. They are crazy amazing cooks, incredible filmmakers, gardeners, and love teaching one another new things. Here are the deets on their story:
“Mark and I met because of school but it took some time for us to actually be in the same room together. Mark got hired at Serious Grip & Electric (where I worked) and about two months in a mutual crush formed. I went on a month and a half long backpacking trip soon after so the week leading up to, we spent every minute we could together. When I was away we wrote each other “love letters” or emails back and forth to get to know each other despite the time difference. By the time I came home, we were both in love… though we didn’t admit it for a few more weeks.
Our relationship has been so unpredictable (I mean if you would have asked us if a year in we would be hunkered down together in a pandemic, we never would have guessed) but our promise to each other is to make every house and place we live into a “home.” We look forward to continuing to find ways to teach & show each other new things.”
Cascade Falls in Patapsco State Park is a dream for a Maryland wedding photographer! If you’re interested in more elopement, intimate wedding, or vow renewal locations check out this post!

I love capturing authentic, meaningful moments (all the belly laughs and happy tears) and creating natural, artful portraits that celebrate the true connection you and your partner share. I’m here to be your friend and guide throughout the wedding planning journey. I’m based in Maryland, but have travelled all over. I’ve photographed over 200 weddings and elopements and want to share everything I’ve learned with you! I’d love to read your story in my inbox!
I photographed my first portrait session in 2009, my first wedding in 2011, and have been photographing full time since 2014. I am in a position to help other photographers grow their business and master their craft. Ready to book your dream client and make images you’re truly proud of!? If you’re interested in a mentoring session send me a note!
