Maryland has such a tapestry of interesting places to get married, I know for certain that even with a career in weddings, I will never see them all. It’s a great problem to have, because it surely keeps it interesting.
I found myself on this beautiful Fall day on the Eastern Shores of Maryland to celebrate with Erica and Brady and their epic wedding at Brittland Manor.
The Manor is a part of a series of heritage properties in Chestertown known collectively as Brittland Estates, and the group of venues hosts all kind of gorgeous private events in an array of settings.
Brittland Manor has spaces for ceremonies on hilltops overlooking the Chester River, in front of the historic house, or right on the river’s waterfront, which is what Erica and Brady chose. You get to pair it with an outdoor reception by the water or a fabulous patio, and you can even sip cocktails poolside, waiting for festivities.
The Manor House itself is full of fantastic textures and antique woods, a cozy spot to get ready, take photos, and enjoy quiet moments with your loved ones before the big day.
And Erica and Brady were especially looking forward to these intimate moments.
One of my favorite things about this couple was how focused they were on their people. Though they’ve worked hard to establish their careers and traveled the world together, collecting a love for adventure and good red wine along the way, they remain deeply committed to remembering the important things in their lives. People.
Erica shared that she never wanted to be one of those people who got caught up in wedding planning, because she knew that they would only remember moments with their families and how they felt in that moment, rather than anything detailed about the event.
These two lovebirds from Maryland, who met at Johns Hopkins, spent close to a decade together enjoying each others company before getting engaged. They’d powered through distance, life’s bumps and bruises, and learned through all of it that they valued each other’s company the most.
So having a good time at their wedding and not sweating the small stuff was paramount to them. I fully supported that!
Their ceremony on the river was full of love and laughter, and shooting their official bride and groom portraits was so fun because they laughed their way through it.
Brittland Manor hosted an incredible event, and Erica and Brady’s friends and family filled it with so much cheer as they gathered around the couple to celebrate as loud and joyfully as possible.
I can’t wait to see what their next chapter holds, because I know they’ll tackle it with a whole lot of good humor and no shortage of love.
Thank you for inviting me along, it was a privilege!
