Pennsylvania Wedding Photographer | Pine Ridge Farm

July 24, 2019 in Weddings

I loved every minute spent as Rachel and Wendell’s Pennsylvania wedding photographer! I’m so excited to share this farm wedding on the blog today.

Rachel was one of my 2017 interns. After working weddings together we quickly became friends! On the way to weddings, I would hear all about Wendell. Rachel told me how excited she was to marry “her person.” So I was like “HECK YES!” when Rachel asked if I would photograph her wedding. It’s always an honor to photograph a fellow photographer’s wedding day.

They celebrated and danced the night away at Pine Ridge Farm, a barn wedding venue in Pennsylvania. They had their first look in the forest. After that, they took photos with their favorite people in a wide open corn field.

At the ceremony, Wendell dropped to his knees when he saw Rachel walk down the aisle with her dad. They said their own vows and danced back down the aisle. I held back tears watching it all unfold. When Rachel and Wendell took over the dance floor, warm bistro lights filled the barn. They ended the night with an epic sparkler exit!

Here is their story from Rachel’s point of view:

“When I walked into Chick-fil-A at the age of 15 for my first day of my first job ever, I saw a man behind the counter in the kitchen staring at me. I didn’t think too much of it, until he asked me if I was Russian. “Russian, really?” I giggled because that was definitely a new one, and assured him I was not.

I noticed that he was always studying on his breaks, rather than relaxing and enjoying lunch. I’m a firm believer that work is just that, work, and everyone needs a break once in a while. So, me being me, I went over and shut his book, and told him that he needed to relax- the books could wait.

As time went on, he talked to me more and more, leading up to him asking me to run the Baltimore Marathon with him (at this point I had known him for just about a year). We ran it together, and when he stopped mid marathon to rub my hurting feet, I knew he was something special. He kissed me that night under an old mistletoe I never took down from the previous Christmas, and we both began catching feelings.

On November 29th, 2012, Wendell got down on one knee and asked me to be his girlfriend, and I was honored to hold that title until December 24th, 2016, when he got down on one knee again, and asked me to be his wife.

I always say I don’t know what I did to deserve a love like his, because his love is so pure, and I believe every woman should feel that kind of love at some point in their lives. May 25th, 2019 will be a day I never forget. The day I got to make my very best friend- the one who holds all my secrets, all my flaws, and all my beauty in his heart- my husband.

It sounds corny, but it’s true- when I saw him it’s like time stopped and it was just the two of us. I keep saying I wish I could re-live that day over and over again, but I realized that in our lives together as husband and wife, I do get to live that day over again.”

Here are some of my favorite images from Rachel and Wendell’s Pennsylvania wedding day!
