Today I will be sharing Scotia and Tom’s lovely Baltimore wedding story. I was SUPER excited to photograph this wedding story when I found out that Scotia and Tom were tying the knot at the Mt. Washington Mill Dye House! These folks reminded me why I love my job as a photographer in Maryland!
Here is their story:
Tom and Scotia met online and were one of the lucky ones that clicked instantly on the first date. Tom was worried that Scotia was cat-fishing him and Scotia was hoping that she would feel the spark when she met Tom. Both of their expectations were exceeded when they met. They official started dating shortly thereafter and fell in love very quickly.
After dating for only a couple months Scotia’s hot water heater broke, several different times. Luckily, she had Tom who kept her level headed during that time. Due to the lack of hot water for several weeks, Tom and Scotia got a taste of what it would be like to live together and thankfully they did not get sick of each other. In fact, this made their relationship grow stronger. They learned that they could talk through anything together and enjoyed being able to see each other every night.
Tom and Scotia have gone on many adventures, far and near, and look forward to many more to come. They have explored Costa Rica, Mexico, Maine, South Carolina, Seattle and the local area. They enjoy experiences close to home, such as going to an Os baseball game, to adventures far away, such as zip-lining through a cloud rain forest.
On July 4th, 2018 Tom proposed to Scotia at Chrysalis Winery. Scotia and Tom were lucky enough to share this moment with their good friends Chris Batemen, Erin Frake and Jon Black.
They chose to have a March wedding at the Mt. Washington Mill Dye House which is one of my favorite venues for many different reasons! The industrial textures mixed with the warm bistro light is an absolute dream! It was the perfect backdrop for Scotia and Tom’s Baltimore wedding story.
I had a blast working with Scotia and Tom on their wedding day, especially after having such a great time at their engagement session. I love engagement sessions because they allow couples to practice being in front of the camera before their big day. It also gives me a chance to get to know my couples even more (and have an adventure of course)!
