Today I will be sharing one of my favorite engagement sessions as a Washington DC wedding photographer. I love capturing my couples in their space! Who doesn’t like a night in with bae and Netflix!? I love cozy in-home sessions because they allow me to capture the sweet moments of everyday life.
Yuri and Ryan invited me into their gorgeous home near Washington DC for their engagement session! Yuri purchased a fixer upper and has completely transformed the house into mid century plant-filled oasis.
After hanging out with Biggie (their super cute dog, who sported a Madewell scarf) we adventured to their favorite coffee shop, Vigilante, and created more portraits. Vigilante Coffee Company in Hyattsville has the prettiest lattes and a wall lined with plants! Yuri wore a STUNNING Reformation dress with a vintage jean jacket, as a result, we realized we like to shop at all of the same places!
Fast forward ten years and these two reconnected at a family wedding. Consequently, Ryan ended up going out in DC and they had the best night ever! Ryan decided to move to DC and 3 years later they got engaged! To sum it up, he proposed with an Alexis Russell ring, which is my favorite jewelry designer! Alexis Russel creates unique rings with raw diamonds for untraditional brides.
Yuri and Ryan are currently planning a fall backyard wedding! They are inviting a taco truck and all of their favorite humans.
Here are some of my favorite images from Yuri and Ryan’s cozy in-home engagement session:
