Luxe Garden Winterthur Museum Wedding

This gorgeous wedding definitely has a storybook feel to it. Magical from top to bottom.

But, the funny part about it is that it was pure luck that I ended up there, and I’m so grateful for the twist of events that led me to crossing paths with Nina and Michael, who are just the kindest people.

Like so many couples, these two had to make the impossible decision to reschedule their original 2020 wedding and opted for an intimate ceremony at Promise ridge a year later.

When they decided to move forward with their big celebration at Winterthur Museum this year, all of that rescheduling taking place across the wedding industry meant that Nina and Michael’s original photographer was no longer available. Lucky for me, they were kind enough to connect us, and it was such an honor to step in and get to know these two and the amazing day they were planning.

I was able to visit  Winterthur Museum and Country Estate  with Nina before their big celebration and instantly felt inspired by the space. The gardens are truly ethereal and the historic architecture is breathtaking.

Every part of the lush outdoor space serves up ‘fairytale’ and you’re transported to your own secret garden. It’s such a classy space. It even comes complete with a reflecting pool and a tower, which you can see in one of their portraits.

It was such a full circle moment for the couple as they finally got to come together to celebrate with their loved ones, all while cooking up that sweet bun in the oven and the newest member of Nina and Michael’s family. Nina was a total babe with her baby bump in her Jenny Yoo gown from the Lovely Bride Philly. (Fun fact:I got my wedding dress at the Lovely Bride D.C. and highly recommend giving them a visit!)

While Winterthur Estate is a beautiful backdrop on its own, there were so many thoughtful details put into the whole event by the couple and their carefully selected vendors. Bare Ink Co created a boho rose gold invitation suite that was so elegant, and A Cottage Gardener’s floral design was unreal. The hanging arrangement was truly stunning.

Erin from Proud to Plan was also a dream to work with, and I stand by my sentiment that hiring a planner for your day is a game changer, friends.

Nina and Michael were even sure to include their pups Winston and Millie in their day by sneaking in some snuggles before the ceremony and naming their signature cocktails after them!

There are so many moments from Nina and Michael’s luxe garden wedding that I want to remember and I’m so excited to share my favorites in this post!

Wintherthur will surely go down in history as one of the most incredible venues I have ever photographed.  If you have the chance to go see it, do! And, if you’re planning to get married there, I know a certain photographer who would love to go back 🙂
